A New Year and a new Race 1

Hi all, this morning we had a dads bottom polishing competition, we are not telling you which bottom was the best polshed but note Iains hand reaching down to get into action. Also note Ravi putting his back into it - he wasn't unwell after the fish curry.

This is the GBR version of the Hakka, also known as Auld lasagne.

Well we manged to get a race in today, a very light east to south easterly which was pretty unstable and had some large mainly righty not lefty shifts. Starting in the middle generally wasn't good and whilst everyone went for it on the line, some lessons were learnt when we went through the tracking after dinner.

Matt sat in all day but recovered well up the second beat. sarah had been 7th up the first beat but missed a shift, Milo got nailed on the start and on the run but is upbeat and Jo was average.

Tricky starting even with some space.

Jamie recdovered from a mid fleet position at the ww mark to a 16 at the finish- good effort.

A second race was started but was abandoned after a fading wind and increasing amounts of rain.

Tommorrow we have a southerly forecast upto 20 kts, so it should be fun.

Bye.
